As part of the week, our friends at The Wilderness Society sat down with Arizona Representative Raul Grijalva (D-Dist. 7), who has been a long standing champion of wilderness and public lands. Rep. Grijalva plans to re-introduce his legislation this year to protect more than 80,000 acres of prime roadless lands on the Coronado National Forest as the Tumacacori Highlands Wilderness. Rep. Grijalva is also Chair of the National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands Subcommittee of the House Natural Resources Committee. During the interview, he outlined the priorities for his subcommittee in the coming Congress and spoke about a historic piece of wilderness legislation.
